Well I never thought of it that way. I always thought it was one of the most motivating feelings you could feel.
The issue with jealousy(envy) is people are not taught what to do with it other than try to suppress it which really does not for you. Part of the pain that comes from jealousy should force you to step up your game because a lot of the time it means someone is doing something better than your doing it.
